Queer and Now

Directed by Garret Sager

Queer & Now, A Lip Sync Spectacular is a theatrical celebration of LGBTQ+ culture and history, infusing forms of drag, lip sync, and ensemble-based physical theater in order to combat the anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric that has been so rife in American Culture. I was lucky enough to be able to act as assistant dramaturg, choreographer, and videographer for this project.

In this remounted production, we were able to expand upon the questions that were raised in the first version of the show. We were able to analyze such ideas as sex, religion, celebrity, gender expression, polyamory, marriage, mental health and many others through a queer lens.
